I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! legend Joe Pasquale has shared his advice to the latest group of campmates and has warned them not to make one terrible “mistake” in the jungle

One I’m A Celebrity contestant has issued a word of warning to this year’s contestants.

Comedian Joe Pasquale, who was crowned King of the Jungle back in 2004, revealed a common “mistake” that campmates tend to make. While speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain on November 12, Joe explained: “[I won the show] 21 years ago now, can you believe that?”

You’d think in your head about seven or eight years, but 21 years ago. The mistake they all make when they go in is that they all take a luxury item. They say: ‘Oh, I’ll take a hairbrush, some skin lotion or a picture of my kids on a pillow, that’ll be lovely.”

“After two hours of sitting on the logs, your back is killing you. I took a chair in and I kid you not, at the end of the first day everybody was swapping food with me [to borrow my chair]. [They said]: ‘Can I borrow your chair for an hour? I’ll give you a handful of rice for two hours in your chair,” reports the Express.

Joe also revealed that he used to receive calls from celebrities seeking advice before entering the jungle. He continued: “What you don’t want to do is perform. You can’t perform for three weeks.”

“You’ve got to be yourself because you can’t hide who you are for three weeks, and they’ll find you out. If you’ve got an angry personality, that will come out, so don’t try to hide it. Just be yourself.”

Joe then let slip that he had seven pairs of pants on him when he entered the jungle, despite campmates only being permitted to bring two pairs.

This year’s cast includes Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley, ex-EastEnders star Martin Kemp, comedian Ruby Wax, Loose Women’s Kelly Brook and rapper Aitch. The line-up is completed by social media influencer Morgan “Angry Ginge” Burtwistle, EastEnders actress Shona McGarty, comedian Eddie Kadi, former footballer Alex Scott and Jack Osbourne.

When asked who he thinks will emerge victorious this series, Joe confidently predicted: “Martin Kemp. He’s a lovely bloke and it always comes through. I think Martin will shine in it.”

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! makes its return to ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on Sunday, November 16.
