I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! viewers were left fuming by another technical glitch during the latest episode
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly made an urgent appeal to I’m a Celebrity fans after countless viewers were left seething over a technical meltdown.
Monday’s (November 17) second instalment of the fresh series saw Angry Ginge and Ruby Wax tackle the opening eating challenge.
Following the duo’s triumph in bagging 10 stars, attention turned to the upcoming trial and which famous face would be stepping up to the plate.
A single celebrity must venture into the jungle’s apocalypse chamber, teeming with serpents and other nightmarish creatures, all in a bid to secure grub for their fellow campmates.
As per usual, the presenting pair directed audiences to the I’m A Celebrity application to cast their votes for their chosen trial participant, reports the Express.
However, a technical catastrophe struck as numerous fans found themselves locked out of the voting process.
Rage boiled over amongst viewers, with one blasting on X: ” #ImACeleb @ITV come on guys sort it out. If the app is going to take you to the website to vote, make sure IT have prepared for the amount of traffic coming to the site! ! No sooner did Ant and Dec say keep trying, it worked for a couple of votes and blew up again! !”
Another exploded with fury: ” #ImACeleb not impressed with the @imacelebrity app tried to vote & it’s not working.”
A third unleashed their anger: “The #ImACeleb voting system this year has been c**p, this is the second time I haven’t been able to vote, I got the code to confirm my number 10 minutes late yesterday, and today i keep on getting a timeout on login? Is anyone else having this issue?”
Ant and Dec tackled the technical difficulties at the earliest chance, encouraging viewers to persist and clarifying that the glitch stemmed from an unprecedented surge in simultaneous voting.
“We know a few of you out there are experiencing some problems with the app. But it’s because the vote is incredibly busy so please keep trying,” Dec explained.
Ant chimed in with encouragement: “Keep trying!”
During a later segment, Dec shed light on the scale of participation causing the technical hiccups.
“We have had well over a million votes tonight which is why you may have experienced a few problems on the app. Thanks for your votes, they are coming through,” he informed the audience.
Prior to entering the jungle to announce the next challenge participant, Ant disclosed they had accumulated over two million votes in total.
As the programme concluded, the presenting duo announced that Aitch would be facing tomorrow evening’s trial.
