A crash has caused significant delays on a bustling section of the M60 this morning. The incident occurred on the anti-clockwise stretch from junction 1, Stockport Pyramid, to junction 27, for the Portwood roundabout.
Eyewitnesses have reported that multiple vehicles seem to be involved in the collision. According to these accounts, one lane has been cordoned off.
Rush hour traffic is snaking back in long queues as the area is ‘partially blocked’, according to traffic service Inrix, reports the Manchester Evening News. They also noted that traffic was sluggish in the clockwise direction due to rubberneckers slowing down to take a look.
According to the traffic service Inrix, the queues on the already normally busy stretch of the M60 stretch back to junction 5 of the M56, near the Airport, a distance of more than seven miles.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed three cars were involved in the collision this morning. All drivers are said to be uninjured. The damaged cars are currently stranded in a lane. The lane has been shut off.
