Meghan Markle has been criticised by Loose Women’s Jane Moore after her friendship with US cosmetics mogul Victoria Jackson was scrutinised – and one particular moment using her Duchess title is causing a stir

Meghan Markle has been branded “hilariously egotistical and breathtakingly hypocritical” following a farcical incident in the US. The Duchess of Sussex’s bond with wealthy beauty magnate Victoria Jackson, 70, has come under the spotlight this past week after revelations that the businesswoman has routinely allowed her and Prince Harry to use her numerous estates without charge.

Meghan’s connection with Victoria runs so deep that she described the mother of three, who recently confessed to “making mistakes,” as her “safe harbour” during a magazine interview in 2021, whilst simultaneously launching devastating attacks on the Royal Family in brutal media appearances.

Yet it was The Firm that granted the “Sussex” title to Meghan, 44, and 41 year old Harry, and these regal links have allegedly helped forge the bond with Victoria, who was honoured with induction into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, New York in 2017.

Television personality Jane Moore, a familiar face on Loose Women, has launched a scathing attack on Meghan over this matter. The columnist penned: “Both hilariously egotistical and breathtakingly hypocritical considering she and Prince Harry have repeatedly criticised the Royal Family that bestowed the ‘Sussex’ title on them.”

Jane, who pens pieces for The Sun, referenced a recent episode at one of Victoria’s opulent properties where Meghan sat down with a magazine journalist. Despite only two individuals being present in the room, Meghan was formally introduced as Meghan, Duchess of Sussex before their discussion commenced, reports the Mirror.

The moment sent social media users into fits of laughter last week. “Word has it that the multi-million-dollar home of cosmetics tycoon Victoria Jackson is available to Meghan at all times and is where, according to a journalist there to interview her, she was announced by her full title as she entered the room of, er, one,” Jane continued in her opinion column.

“The Sussexes supposedly ‘Megxited’ from the UK five years ago for a life of ‘financial independence’, yet they continue to rinse their royal connections for their own commercial gain.”

The Duchess of Sussex celebrated her 41st birthday at Victoria’s ranch near Santa Barbara, California, and is reportedly feels “at home” within the entrepreneur’s properties. A source revealed: “Victoria’s houses make their place in Montecito look like a prison or a beach shack. It suits them for security, the houses are unbelievable, and they don’t have to pay at all, which is also appealing.”

Meghan and Victoria’s friendship has emerged as the Duchess of Sussex has spent 2025 frantically attempting to rebrand herself, following the conclusion of her and Harry’s Netflix deal. Nevertheless, she has yet to strike gold and questions persist about how the couple will maintain their lavish lifestyle – without returning to The Royal Family.
