Love Island star Adam Collard broke down in tears on Channel 4’s Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins as he opened up about his fiancée Laura Woods suffering a miscarriage
Celebrity SAS participant Adam Collard was reduced to tears as he shared the heart-wrenching experience of his fiancée Laura Woods suffering a miscarriage.
The Love Island star and sports presenter endured the tragic loss when she was 11 weeks into her pregnancy.
During Sunday’s (August 17) episode of the intense Channel 4 programme, he revealed his emotional turmoil following the devastating event and confessed he nearly didn’t participate in the course.
Adam shared: “It’s been a long course and I definitely feel it now physically and mentally, emotionally as well. It’s been one of the toughest challenges.”
When asked about the lessons he’s learnt during the course, he replied: “Trust others more, talk to others, open up to them. I wish I knew that maybe a month or two ago because it would have seriously helped.”, reports OK!.
“I had a tough couple of months before the course, didn’t really feel like myself at all. I was very down, it was very low. I couldn’t really describe it but I got told it was depression.
“I’ve always been someone, to be honest, who’s always just thought I don’t really understand that.
“I kind of dismissed it when I was a lot younger and thought I don’t really understand mental health at all until it kind of hit me.
“I nearly didn’t even come and do the course at all. There’s one of two things that happened.
“One of them was my partner. We lost something when it was really close to getting at the exciting time.
“Which I know happens all the time but I was proud of the fact that was excited for me which I didn’t think I ever would be.
“And when it got taken away it was 10 times worse for her and I just really was in a bit of a bad place.
“To be honest in front go her I pretended I was cool and pretended I was absolutely fine.”
Laura and Adam kicked off their romance in October 2023, and by 2024 they were thrilled to announce they were expecting their first child. Their son Leo made his grand entrance into the world in January 2025.
Their love story began a year after Adam’s notable return to Love Island in 2022, following his initial appearance in 2018, in a quest to find his ideal partner.
Adam’s relationship with Laura has been a hit right from the start, with the reality star dubbing the TV presenter as “the one”.
