It’s not often I get truly surprised by tech nowadays, well not as often as I like.

A lot of video games are very similar to others already out there and new gizmos are usually incrementally better than the previous year’s effort.

But these Onesonic earphones blew me away on first listen.

This is simply an amazing sound quality for sub-£200 cans.

Fullsome, loud, crisp and commanding – the sonic space it kicks out is rich and impressive.

Whether its hard rock or pumping dance, you can bang them up to top level and there’s no distortion, it’s pure quality.

You’d easily pay double this to get similar level audio elsewhere.

So hats off to the team at the independent Irish brand which is making its UK debut this month with these StudioPro cans.

The Onesonic’s arrive in a well-padded black carry case, ideal for on-the-go carriage.

And the design is neat, trim and a mix of black plastic and matted silver ear cups, which look workmanlike but still stylish.

They’re light on the head too although the band across the top could be comfier as I don’t feel there’s enough padding there for my bulky head.

You get up to 40 hours playback on these headphones at a charge, about 15 less if you’ve got the active noise-cancellation kicked in.

And my God you should have that ANC, because I was blasting these babies in the front room on a test and my family were oblivious to any bleed, up to up to 33dB noise reduction I’m told.

You can connect via the two included wires, one USB-C to USB-A and the other a classic 3.5mm wired input.

But the general go-to nowadays is bluetooth and that works great here too.

Under the hood we’re talking 40mm speaker drivers, which give the StudioPro’s such power, and on-ear touch sensors for your ANC/transparency toggle, so if you want to still hear the world around you then you can with a press.

Handy for when you’re commuting.

When the battery is dead it takes around three hours to recharge via USB but there’s tons of music loving to do each charge here.

They offer so much audio quality for the price, look the part and are generally very comfortable that it’s an obvious yes from us.

VERDICT 5/5
