The Orange Manbaby was slammed when he stepped in front of the Queen during the inspection of the Guard of Honour back in 2019 and he has also made the same mistake with King Charles
Donald Trump has made the same “diplomatic blunder” with King Charles as he did with Queen Elizabeth II back in 2019. The red carpet has been rolled out at Windsor Castle for the US President as he embarked on his historic second state visit to the UK.
The Orange Manbaby was slammed when he stepped in front of the late Queen during the inspection of the Guard of Honour which also took place at Windsor Castle. It was described as a protocol violation at the time but Buckingham Palace officials later said Mr Trump had not done anything wrong.
This afternoon, the geriatric president, 79, walked in front of King Charles but Palace sources again came to his defence, insisting it was not a breach of protocol. Just seconds after arriving in Windsor, Trump broke royal protocol just seconds after arriving in Windsor.
The breach royal etiquette came as Trump was greeting by the Prince and Princess of Wales. Trump shook hands with Prince William and all seemed to be going to plan. However, the US President appeared to go one step further.
Footage of the historic meeting on his second state visit showed Trump appear to pat William on his arm after the handshake, reports the Express. A similar incident can also be seen when Trump greets King Charles just moments later.
Kate gave Trump a broad smile as they shook hands at Windsor Castle. The four – the Trumps and the Waleses then walked side by side – with William and Mr Trump chatting in the middle of the group, with the US President holding his wife Melania’s hand – towards the front of Victoria House where the King and Queen were waiting.
William was heard to say, “This is my father” to Mr Trump as they approached the King, as Charles gestured with a small wave of his hand.
Trump shook hands with the King and the pair chatted enthusiastically together, with the president also placing his hand on Charles’s arm as they shook hands.
A carriage procession was also held to carry the King and president through the George IV gate and swept into Windsor Castle’s quadrangle.
Waiting in the centre of the grass-covered square was the unprecedented guard of honour, believed to be the largest assembled in living memory.
It was drawn from three of the British Army’s most prestigious regiments – Coldstream, Scots and Grenadier Guards – each with their own captain and state colour.
Behind them were the Massed Bands of The Household Division and the Massed Pipes and Drums who played the American national anthem followed by the British as the carriages approached the royal dais.
