Liam Gallagher has sent Oasis fans into a frenzy after sharing a cryptic message on social media – but the post was quickly deleted from his official account
Liam Gallagher sparked a social media meltdown with a mysterious post before hastily removing all traces of it.
The Oasis legend posted a highly cryptic message on X amidst speculation about additional reunion gigs with his brother Noel.
The post vanished from his official account in record time, but eagle-eyed fans were quick enough to capture screenshots before it disappeared. Many supporters reckon his message hinted at further Oasis performances following their massive 2025 comeback tour.
Their global tour kicked off in Cardiff before sweeping across the UK, North America and South America, reports the Mirror.
Oasis have yet to grace stages in Asia and Oceania, having wrapped up their final London performances over the weekend. During Sunday’s gig at Wembley Stadium, Liam declared: “I wanna thank you lot for keeping the faith and putting this band back on the f**king map. Champagne Supernova. See you next year!”.
Now supporters believe Liam dropped hints about upcoming shows with his late-night post, which read in Roman numerals: “MMXXV11.” Fans were quick to share their interpretations, with one suggesting: “It was 2025 in roman numerals with an 11 after it so i’d imagine it’s an announcement in November 2025.”
Another speculated: “Maybe it’s the year we’ll get a new album. There’s definitely something going on next year though as he’s been saying ‘see you next year’ multiple times this tour, and Noel trying to change the subject when being asked about Knebworth next year.”
One fan excitedly remarked: “Whatever that was about, it’s a sign of something coming up for the band, which means … Oasis is so back, baby!”
Speculation had already begun among fans about what Liam’s cryptic comment on stage over the weekend could mean. One fan took to the r/Oasis Reddit page and pondered: “Final gig?”
“It’s pretty obvious that Oasis will be wrapping up this lap of honour next year with a series of final gigs. I know people have been begging for Knebworth, but if you consider Oasis management have denied this publicly several times, plus the fact the venue isn’t even good, let’s assume this isn’t happening. How do we imagine this tour to end?”.
“I like the idea of a couple of Europe warmup venues early in 2026, and then a five-night Hyde park residency next year, followed by five-night Etihad residency, finishing where they began.”
However, many fans agreed that the final show should take place in their home city of Manchester. One fan stated: “The final reunion gig should be in Manchester.” Yet others believed this could just be the start, with one sharing: “I don’t think the reunion is going to end, but to be an ongoing thing.”
