A Married at First Sight UK groom has addressed an awkward moment from last week’s friends and family visits.
Team builder Dean, 31, has been matched with recruitment consultant Sarah, also 31, for the E4 experiment.
Unfortunately, the duo has struggled to connect from day one of the programme, with Sarah admitting she wasn’t physically drawn to her new husband on their wedding day.
Their woes continued at the first dinner party where Sarah “chatted” about her partner to fellow participants, prompting expert Paul C Brunson to pull her up on it.
Co-expert Mel Schilling also had words with the Scottish bride after she openly swooned over finding a MAFS producer attractive in front of Dean, reports OK!
Their relationship hit yet another stumbling block during friends and family week when Dean’s mate James put Sarah through her paces.
Whilst chatting about their honeymoon, Dean insisted the newlyweds had learned “a lot about each other.”
This led James to question Sarah: “Tell me one interesting fact you learned about Dean.” The bride hesitated before responding, creating an uncomfortable silence in the room.
She finally answered: “Maybe magic tricks, I feel. You can do magic tricks.”
But her long pause didn’t go down well with Dean’s pal of over 25 years. James later admitted to producers: “I am a bit shocked that Sarah couldn’t think of anything interesting about Dean, one of the most charismatic people I know. Anything that she had learned about him would have been an interesting fact.”
Now, Dean has responded to the awkward moment on TikTok.
The E4 personality shared his reaction on Sunday (October 12), listing a host of fascinating details his spouse could have mentioned. These ranged from his juggling abilities to his former role as a redcoat entertainer at Butlins, amongst other talents.
Whilst audiences were left gobsmacked that Sarah faltered on the question, Dean seemed to take it all in his stride in his response clip.
During another part of the in-laws encounter, James voiced his worries about Sarah and Dean’s relationship after discovering Sarah had previously described her husband as giving her the “ick”.
He raged: “Ick is a horrible word. It came as a shock. He could be getting made a bit of a fool and disrespected. That makes me worry. F****** muggy!”
